Divorce affects 1.5 million children per year, which means there’s a lot of experience out there you can learn from.
Join us at Thriveworks Chesterfield Two Parents, Two Homes seminar, a four-hour parenting class designed to minimize the emotional damage that parents cause to their children during and after a divorce. The seminar provides parents with the skills necessary to make child-focused decisions during this process and prepares you for the years to come.
This is an educational seminar that takes a look at separation and divorce through the eyes of children and is geared towards assisting caretakers in recognizing the important role they play in their child’s adjustment to this transition. This seminar is designed to educate parents about children’s issues in divorce as well as the need to value their co-parent and understand the importance of communication between homes.
We will also go over how to keep children out of the middle during custody, visitation and child support negotiations. As required by the Virginia Code, topics include the effects of separation or divorce on children, parenting responsibilities, conflict resolution and financial responsibilities.
Two Parents, Two Homes explores these issues by incorporating skill development and application along with small-group discussion. The seminar is suited for parents and guardians who have separated, are contemplating or have filed for a divorce. It is used where divorce education is mandated by the court, and is a good resource for any family involved in custody litigation.
The Thriveworks Chesterfield seminar is facilitated by Katy Webb LCSW, a trained parent educator.
