My 24 Hour Fitness club membership is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Not only do I have access to all of the most state-of-the-art machinery for working out, I have access to all of the wonderful, free classes offered to members. I attend a Senior Fitness class twice a week. The Master Trainer, Ben, gives us a fabulous workout with core, balance and strength training. The gym is open 24 hours a day. I generally go in late morning or early afternoon and have no problems getting on the equipment I want. If you want good value for your workout dollar, choose 24 Hour Fitness at 7 Corners, Falls Church or Tysons, Virginia.
I still attend 24 Hour fitness due to its convenient location and very friendly staff. But overall the experience has been going downhill for months. They are not keeping up with routine maintenance on the machines and, indeed, they are losing ground. Half of the stationary bikes and half of the ellipticals are not working one way or another. It is so bad that they have stopped putting 'out of order' signs on machines. So I have to try two or three before I find one that functions correctly. I am told that they are initiating a new maintenance contract in January. If things do not show significant improvement, I'll be looking for alternatives.
I had the 3 day pass. The gym itself is nice and not to busy. Alot of older people in there late 40's and up. Also, the fitness equipment for strength training was out dated . Probably won't join. I like to be around diverse community of fitness people.
So SAD! :-( I did enjoy this gym for about a year. Then at the beginning of this year things started to go downhill very quickly. Most of the treadmills squeak, the panels don't work, and are bumpy to run on, so there's always a rush to get on the three remaining ones that do work OK. The ellipticals are starting to go as well. The locker room smells terrible and is always dirty. Some of the stalls have been broken for months. The Tysons location is twice the distance for me, but I've started going there instead.
I'm not a member. Was invited as a guest. The worst. Bathrooms were filthy!! No heaters in the pool, hot tub wasn't working. Pool is NOT 24 hours but other parts of the gym is. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt and returned the next day just to have the front desk ignore us by standing with their backs towards us and talking to another employee. Stood for a couple of mins until we got recognized. That's a shame. Price is ridiculous. I can see having a yearly fee when you are paying 10 bucks a month but not when you're paying 50. Seriously? Management is the worst. I can run this place Better then they can. Bugs found in the stretching area. Gross! Probably won't be back which is a shame being my best friend wanted me to go there and workout with her.
